Management Team

  • Wiscort Banda (B. Min.Sc – Geology; MSc – Exploration Geology, MEIZ, RENG)

Wiscort Banda has over 15 years of uninterrupted international experience in the mining and mineral exploration sector. Wiscort holds a Bachelor of Mineral Science- geology degree from the University of Zambia, obtained in year 2000 and a M.Sc. in Exploration Geology from Rhodes University, South Africa obtained in 2004. Wiscort was awarded his M.Sc. for his dissertation on the review of Broken Hill-type lead-Zinc deposits (Aggeneys and Gamsberg of South Africa as a case study).

He has worked as a production and resource geologist for Zambia’s leading copper mining company Konkola Copper Mines Plc and has also supervised a number of mineral exploration projects in Zambia including Munali Nickel and Chirundu Uranium Projects.

He was supervising geologist for Scoping, Pre-feasibility & Definitive Feasibility studies for Munali nickel project which became Zambia‘s first Nickel Mine.

At African Energy (ASX: AFR) in Zambia, he was project manager and country technical representative for the Chirundu Uranium project. He led the project through feasibility to attainment of a mining license.

In South Africa, Wiscort lead a culturally diverse team of geologists at Uramin’s Rystkuil Uranium project, delivering 110,000m of percussion and diamond drilling in just over one year. The project was delivered on schedule, within budget and in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.

Wiscort has vast working experience on the Central African Copperbelt’s copper/cobalt deposits which straddle Zambia and Congo (DRC).

Wiscort’s current involvement with LMV is only part time and intermittent as he is on a full-time role.  Besides exploration, his current interest is in the valuation of mineral properties.

2) John Mwamba (Dip Metallurgy, B.Min.Sc – Geology; MSc – Exploration Geology in progress, MEIZ, MGSZ)

John Mwamba holds a National High Diploma in Metallurgy from the Copperbelt University, a Bachelor of Mineral Science degree from the University of Zambia and he is currently a finalist of an MSc Exploration Geology at Rhodes University in South Africa.

John has ten (20) years relevant work experience in the mining and mineral exploration sectors. He has experience on IOCG’s; hydrothermal (lateritic) nickel; magmatic nickel and sediment hosted stratiform/stratabound sulphide types of deposits and has good technical knowledge of various deposit genetic models. John was part of the geology team that successfully managed the resource drilling part of the scoping, Pre-feasibility and Definitive Feasibility studies at Munali Nickel Mine in Zambia and later become the senior Mine Geologist.

John was one of the three (3) geologists that managed the Kalumbila Cu-Ni-U (Trident) Pre-Feasibility drilling program prior to its acquisition by the Canadian listed First Quantum Mineral Limited (FQM) and later was part of the team that managed the Definitive resource drilling program after FQM acquired the prospect. Over the years he has managed several Greenfield and brownfield exploration projects in various parts of Zambia with both mid-tier and major multinational mining companies including Vale in various parts of Zambia.
